Get Reimbursed For Furthering Your Education

We continuously strive to enhance the learning experience for our students and look for ways to support you, our teaching staff. We are thrilled to announce that the PTO has established a fund to supplement some of the costs of pursuing further education such as the National Boards Certificate, advancing a degree in Elementary Education, or attending a professional development event.

We hope that this funding will empower you, our dedicated teachers, to advance your own education and professional development.

Here is what this new funding will cover and how the process will work:

  • PTO will partially reimburse the costs associated with advancing your current degree in an Elementary Education related field, pursuing the National Board Certification, or attending a professional development event for each Teacher/TA once per year.

  • Teaching staff seeking reimbursement from this fund must first apply to the Henderson County Public School Central Office for assistance - proof of attempt must be submitted, such as an email rejection.

  • PTO will reimburse the substitute teacher costs for each Teacher/TA once per year while in attendance at a professional development event (such as a conference, continuing education offering, certification testing, etc.) related to Elementary Education.

  • Proof of completion/attendance must be submitted along with a completed Professional Development Reimbursement Request Form to be considered.

    • Proof includes: payment receipt, course syllabus and certificate of attendance/completion

  • Requests can be submitted once per year, per teacher.

  • Funds will be dispersed on a “First Come, First Served” * basis until funds for the year are exhausted. (* Teachers are welcome to guarantee reimbursement prior to attending/paying for an event by submitting the Professional Development Reimbursement Request Pre-Approval Form. Actual reimbursement will occur after proof of attendance at the event is provided along with submission of the Professional Development Reimbursement Request Form.)

  • Reimbursement Requests must be submitted within 4 weeks of event attendance or payment towards master’s degree or National Board Certification.

  • Dates for annual funds will run from July 1 - June 30.

  • Submitting a request does not guarantee reimbursement. Approvals will be made on a case-by-case basis by the PTO’s Purchase Request Committee.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our children’s education. You play a crucial role in shaping the minds of our future generations, and we are committed to supporting you in any way we can. We look forward to witnessing the ways that you will utilize these funds for your own advancement.
