The teacher snack cart.

With Covid changing the way the PTO is able to help and support our teachers, we have had to get creative on what we as a school community can do to let our teachers know how much we love them! The past two years we stocked a snack cart full of their favorite snacks and treats, and it was kept in the front office for teachers to come and pick out a snack at their convenience. We were able to keep the cart stocked by generous donations from our MRS families, and it was such a success that we have decided to do it again this year as an ongoing thank you to them for all they do for our kiddos.

  • Each week we ask one grade level to donate items to the cart. We roll through all six grades, you will receive an email asking for a contribution once every six weeks. Some of our Falcons have chosen to schedule a Subscribe and Save shipment from Amazon. If you’d like to do the same, have the delivery sent to:

    Mills River Elementary
    ATTN: Mills River PTO
    94 School House Road
    Mills River, NC 28759

  • We are currently in need of donations of individualized snacks and/or drinks. In the past, the teachers have especially liked individually wrapped candies (chocolate, preferably!) and other small items. We have it on good authority that some of their favorite snacks are cookies, chips, crackers, Nature Valley wafer bars (specifically, the peanut butter and chocolate varieties), and fresh fruit (apples, clementines and bananas are easily washed/peeled). They have also been requesting more caffeine, so any/all varieties of canned soda would be great. But truly, any donations would be greatly appreciated!

*Please note, all food and drink items must be packaged individually and cannot be homemade.
